You would not give a new hire unrestricted access to Salesforce, email, finance and customer data on day one.
Would you give a new employee unrestricted access to Salesforce, email, finance systems and customer data on day one?
Most companies would not. They would define a role, a manager, a permission set, a probation period, and a way to review mistakes.
Some agent architectures skip that step
They connect tools because the demo is more impressive when the agent can “do everything.” The result is an actor inside the business with broader access than most humans, weaker identity, and no manager.
When that agent is wrong, the organization often cannot reconstruct what it saw, what it decided, or why.
Proportional control
Not every agent needs the same controls. An agent that summarizes a document is not the same as an agent that updates a customer record.
Observe. Advise. Act with approval. Act within bounds. Those are different jobs. They deserve different trust boundaries.
